Cooking, Cleaning, and Dinner Out Schedule
The schedule below shows the current assignments for cooking, clean-up, and dinner out at a local restaurant. The cook shown in bolded (and capitalized) type is the Head Chef, which may or may not mean anything. Clean-up duties pertain only to post-dinner clean-up, not to breakfast or lunch, which people are expected to take care of themselves.
Dinner at the conference site is scheduled whenever the cooks announce it is. The dinner out group will assemble at 6:00 PM for the drive to the restaurant.
Dinner is a communal effort, and those not assigned to cooking or clean-up duty on any given night are nonetheless encouraged to pitch in and help in any way they can.
NOTE: This schedule is subject to changes, which can become numerous, due to domino effects. This is simply our initial plan. We did attempt (with pretty good success!) to accommodate everyone's preferences.
People may switch assignments (excepting dinner out) by mutual agreement.
Basic rules (which we follow as much as possible, but cannot always):
1. No one is expected to do any combination of dinner out, cooking, or clean-up on the same night.
2. Insofar as possible, people are not asked to do cooking/clean-up duties on consecutive nights.
3. In general, no one is asked to do clean-up the night before they are scheduled to talk.
4. People who preferred not to go out to eat were not assigned to do so. Everyone else was.
6. All dinner groups, cooking and clean-up teams are gender balanced to the extent possible.
7. No one is assigned to cook or clean up prior to their expected arrival or after their expected departure. But we am not always fully aware of arrival and departure times, so please check these and let us know if you see any problems.
8. We have generally tried to assign larger groups of cooks and/or clean up crews on nights when virtually everyone will be eating at the house.
